Heading into another weekend….

Well, another week has come to an end. This weekend, I plan on spending time with my son and cleaning up my messy house. Amazingly, I am actually looking forward to a very laid back weekend for a change. I feel like I’ve been running the rat race non-stop lately and could use a break.

Tonight, I am planning on having dinner with Ryan Adams and his wife Jessica. They own the Planet Beach tanning salon in Springboro, OH. If anyone is interested in a good tan and nice, friendly staff…stop by! You can find them here.

Dreams

I’m not sure if it’s a lifestyle change lately, medication side effects or just a coincendance but I’ve been having some extremely vivid and abnormal dreams lately. The worst part is that a few of them are reoccuring dreams.

This is kinda freaky situation when you dream the same thing over and over. It almost starts to be come real. For example, I’ve been having this continuous dream about being back in high school. I’m walking through the halls of my old school when I realize that I’m almost 30 years old and not supposed to be here. Then a counselor walks up to me and tells me that I’m not able to leave yet because I don’t have enough credits to graduate. I have a sinking feeling that this stems for my poor academic performance my last two years in high school. I barely scraped by, yet gradudated, when college and created a successful career in software.

So, are dreams just random memories called up by our unconsciouis mind or do they have some real world meaning? I guess it’s up to each person’s interpretation of this.

NuSoft Christmas Party

I just returned home from a weekend in Michigan. I attended NuSoft’s Christmas party at Roosevelt’s Billard’s in Farmington Hills, MI. The party turned out to be great with lots of drinks, food, and conversation. I was able to meet lots of Nusoft employees from Grand Rapids, MI that I had only heard of in passing.

In addition to the six drink tickets Jennifer and I received, we were able to score another six from a non-drinking couple. Needless to say, after a few beers, martinis, and some hot wings, I was good to go. Jennifer promised to keep me from embarrasing myself too bad.

Getting older….

Getting older….

At approximately 9am this morning, I turned a whopping 29 years old. I’m not sure whether to jump up and down or cry!

I think back to around 23 or 24 and how I never though twice about my age or the distant future….I never thought about wrinkles, gray hairs, or receding hair lines (not that I have any of those ).

As I approached this b-day, I started thinking of life after 30 and where I want things to go. I think I’ve accomplished quite a bit in my personal life, career, and with my family. I’m happy for the most part with things overall. There is still a missing void in my life but I’ll find it sometime in the near future. In the meantime, I’ll enjoy being young since the new 20 is 30…or something like that.

In the meantime, here’s to me!!!

New position…worried :(

New position…worried 😦

I’m into my third week as the one and only prinicipal consultant for NuSoft Solutions in Cincinnati. Until this past week, we were 3 strong in Cincinnati. This included myself, an account executive (sales guy) and the general manager…

I show up at our Blue Ash office on Friday morning for a status meeting to find out that our Cincy general manager has been let go. I only had a very short time to work with this woman so I can’t figure why they wanted to let her go. I’ll probably never know. I’m worried that people may be expendable at this company. I’m going to continue to kick butt and keep my fingers crossed.

First Post

Hello all,

This is my first blog entry on this blog. I guess I should start by telling a little about myself.

I’m 28, single, and am always looking for new adventures. I live in the Southwestern Ohio area and grew up here my entire life. I have been employed in the IT field for about 8 years now. I grew up in Middletown, OH and attended high school there. After high school, I spent 3 years at Miami University. While in my junior year, I took an internship with Cintas Corporation and the rest is history. I recently accepted a new position as a Principal Consultant at NuSoft. We are attempting to open a Cincinnati office.

I have seven year old son, Alec, who I share custody with. He is an adorable blond-hair, blue-eyed ball of energy. He started first grade this year and is loving it.
